Third-party services and information location

Morrow Bench uses third-party service providers, including Polsia, to operate parts of its website, Repair Request system, file and photo uploads, and related website functionality. Depending on the services used, providers may also include website hosting and enquiry services, cloud or data storage, email services, payment providers, accounting or business administration services, and suppliers or distributors involved in obtaining parts or providing a service.

These providers may use their own infrastructure, service providers and subprocessors to deliver their services. The location where information is processed or stored may depend on the infrastructure and subprocessors used by the relevant provider. Morrow Bench cannot guarantee that all information is processed or stored exclusively in Australia, and does not represent that information is processed or stored in any particular country.

Morrow Bench seeks to use personal information only for legitimate business and service purposes and shares it with service providers only where reasonably necessary to provide or administer those services. Morrow Bench does not sell customer personal information.

Repair Requests and photographs

Repair Request information submitted through the website is stored using the Polsia-hosted Service Requests system so Morrow Bench can review and manage the enquiry. Optional photographs are processed through the website’s Polsia upload functionality and associated with the relevant Service Request.

Morrow Bench may use the contact details provided in a Repair Request to contact you about your enquiry. Communications following an enquiry may take place by email, phone or SMS using the contact information you provide.

Please avoid including unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information in your description or photographs.

Submitting a Repair Request does not authorise diagnosis, repair, parts purchases or other work. The existing Repair Terms & Conditions explain the requirements for assessment and approval.

Information on your device

Computer repair can involve technical access to personal information stored on a device. Morrow Bench will:

  • access only information reasonably necessary to perform the approved service
  • treat information encountered during repair as confidential
  • avoid unrelated personal files where reasonably practicable
  • not copy customer information unless required for an approved service, such as a data transfer, backup or migration

Morrow Bench does not intentionally access customer files or personal information unrelated to the approved service. Tell Morrow Bench before work begins if a device contains particularly confidential or restricted information, or if particular files or accounts must not be accessed.

Passwords and access details

Where practical, you may provide temporary credentials or enter credentials yourself. Passwords, PINs and other access details should be used only for the approved service and not kept longer than reasonably necessary. Please do not provide passwords for unrelated accounts.

Website information

The Morrow Bench website may use technical functionality provided by its website platform to collect limited information about visits to the website. Depending on the website configuration, this may include a randomly generated browser identifier and ordinary technical information associated with a web request. This functionality may use browser storage technologies such as local storage.

Where collected, this information may be used to operate, secure and maintain the website and to understand its use. This section describes technical information about website visits; Repair Request details and uploaded photographs are handled as described under Repair Requests and photographs.

Security and retention

Morrow Bench takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No electronic storage, transmission or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Nothing in this policy limits any obligation that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Morrow Bench retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate business, service, accounting, insurance and legal requirements. No fixed retention period is stated in this policy.

Where third-party platforms process or store information on Morrow Bench’s behalf, their systems may have separate backup, logging, retention and deletion processes. When information is no longer reasonably required, Morrow Bench will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or de-identify information it controls, subject to applicable record-keeping requirements and third-party system processes. Deletion from Morrow Bench’s systems may not immediately remove every copy held in third-party backups or logs.
